SYNAPSE ORGANIZES THE HTX FORUM AND EXPERT MEETINGS 2022 IN BARCELONA

On the 3-4 of October, we organised a successful HTx Forum and Expert Meeting 2022 in Barcelona where more than 40 HTA experts gathered for this 2-day event

Last Monday 3rd October, we celebrated the 4th annual HTx Forum meeting in Barcelona, where the experts dived into the future of HTA. During the Forum meeting, experts have been discussing how HTA decisions can be supported by artificial intelligence (AI) or all HTA needs.

On Tuesday the 4th of October, almost 40 attendees of the 4th Annual HTx Expert Meeting, brainstormed on how far European HTA collaboration and data sharing have come and what ambitions we want to reach in the HTA decision-making field.

Among the experts who participated in the Expert Meeting, we highlight the session dedicated to EHDEN where the Project Coordinator, Peter Rijnbeek, reflects on the progress in EHDEN, a project in which we are involved in project management. EHDEN’s mission is to provide a new paradigm for the discovery and analysis of health data in Europe, by building a large-scale, federated network of data sources standardized to a common data model.

After this session, was time for Juan José Abellan (EMA Data Analytics and Methods Task Force) who had the opportunity to present the progress in DARWIN EU®, a project that has the vision to give EMA and national competent authorities in the EU Member States access to valid and trustworthy real-world evidence, for example on diseases, patient populations, and the use, safety and effectiveness of medicines, including vaccines, throughout the lifecycle of a medicinal product. We are providing overall project management for DARWIN EU®.

These successful face-to-face HTx meetings in Barcelona were coordinated by us. As HTx Consortium partners, we are also contributing to this project, leading the Work Package 6 focused on scientific coordination and project management. Our mission is to act as the primary contact to the commission concerning legal, financial, and administrative tasks to ensure the project management as well as the scientific coordination of the overall project.

We thank all the participants for their contributions to this F2F event in Barcelona and look forward to meeting again very soon!
